About the show
THE PUPPET is an musical-operetta that places itself (very loosely) in the tradition of Gilbert and Sullivan. It imagines the run-up to the 2020 presidential election and all of the intrigue that might accompany it. In these "unpresidented" times in which we live, this story is at the same time impossible and all-too plausible.
This show is meant as a rebuke to those in power, a warning to those fighting the ones in power, and a wakeup call to the unconcerned.
(But who are we kidding, it's a musical. It will ultimately make no difference.)
THE PUPPET enjoyed a semi-staged reading in October 2017 and is currently undergoing revisions and further development. Look out for a fully staged production sometime soon.
